Raptor Jumps On Spino
What if somebody made a raptor jump on a spino, like what they did with the T-Rex at MG
Re: Raptor Jumps On Spino
Sadly, it isn't possible. Because there is some code in the model that makes the raptor jump on it, but Spino doesn't have that code.

i dont think so. generally you CAN edit the game's model, only problem is that you can't put those edited models ingame.

Except it works when you only change animation states.

Re: Raptor Jumps On Spino
that takes some coding right? i guess that is an exception but generally if you physically edit the model it is invalid to the game, but im pretty sure u know that.
Re: Raptor Jumps On Spino
Then how do you explain I was successfully able to make the Homalocephale ram small predators by using an available animation in its model that I changed?

Re: Raptor Jumps On Spino
By the way, can you make the homalo live longer and still ram because I got your mod and the homalo lives shorter then all my other dinos
Re: Raptor Jumps On Spino
You just search for the lifespan in the ini, and change it to how long you want.

Re: Raptor Jumps On Spino
thats not editing the model physically, thats just grabbing some unused animation (which i cant do cuz i have no knowledge of it) and implementing it into the game. by "physically editing", i mean molding and altering the shape of the model itself. i didnt mean to take it the wrong way srryprocompsognathus100 wrote:Then how do you explain I was successfully able to make the Homalocephale ram small predators by using an available animation in its model that I changed?
Re: Raptor Jumps On Spino
So making something like a call_f animation into an idle_post_lp animation (in which I am the only one who knows how to)is not editing the model?

Re: Raptor Jumps On Spino
nope. editing models is physically morphing or adding additional polygons to a model. you can do that but you cant put it ingame.
EDIT: exactly where are you replacing the animations? is it in an ini file or fsm file? im curious. btw i didnt mean to provoke or offend you, so if i did offend you im sorry i didnt mean to do it intentionally. ill happily call this off because i dont want it ending up in a dispute.

I am replacing the animations in the RAW model. For example, there is an eat_md_lp animation in, say, a Galli model. I turned the Galli into a Coelophysis, and I give it the Cerato tclass for it to attack herbivores. But the Cerato tclass' fsm requires the snap_md_lp animation for the attacking behaviour to work, so what I do is open the Galli model, disable the read-only option, find a suitable animation to replace, like the eat_md_lp animation, I can change that to snap_md_lp so the attacking behaviour can work.

It's simple to do, but hard to understand. Basically, you just click for the properties of the model, and disable the read-only option. Then, you open the model with a hex editor, search for the animation you want to change by just looking for the find option. Then, when you find it, place your....uh, I can't believe I forgot what it was called, it looks like a large I when your cursor is above text, place that before the first letter of the animation, then you can change the name into the animation you want, but it must be one that is recognized by the game. Though there are more complicated stuff. When you change an animation, the number of letters of the animation your changing must be equal to, or less than the number of letters in the animation you are changing it to. Other than that, that's pretty much it. Did you get it?
